Cafe Aroma Evolving
Posted on 11. Jan, 2011 in What's Up and What's Good
Hello friends & neighbors!
We here at Café Aroma have been taking some time to re-envision what we do, why we do it, and how we can serve our community better. We are making some changes that we’re excited about and we wanted share them with you, our supporters & community.
The biggest change you will notice is our new hours. We have found that one of the most unique things we offer to the community is our nighttime hours. We have received such positive feedback from people who are so grateful to have a coffeehouse environment available at night. We also love the idea of complementing (instead of competing) with other business’ hours – there are many great local options for coffeehouses during the day, but few at night. We love filling that void. With this in mind, we’ve decided to be open from 4pm to 11pm, Monday through Friday. We will continue to have live music multiple times a week, and we’ll still be doing our popular all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm, starting January 22nd.
The second change we are making is simplifying our food menu while continuing to develop excellence in our drink menu. With our nighttime hours we want to find our identity in being a coffeehouse more than a restaurant. Don’t worry though, if you’re hungry while you’re here, we still have delicious food for you, including grilled sandwiches, soups, and baked goods. Our food menu will just be more simple & streamlined. At the same time we are striving for more excellent & consistent drinks, continuing our journey into third-wave coffee.
Finally, we are also further embracing our spiritual identity. Cafe Aroma is church owned, but we never seek to impose our spirituality. However, we do want to offer opportunities for those who are seeking to explore & experience God if they so desire. We have a beautiful, cozy room for prayer & ministry (located just off of our auditorium) that is open to the public & will be getting utilized more consistently. We also want to encourage small groups from all churches to use our facility and to continue to be a gathering spot for people of all backgrounds to interact & build relationships.
We hope that by communicating these things, you are not only informed but able to catch our vision for Cafe Aroma. Our desire is to use what we have to serve our community most effectively. We invite you in to enjoy the warmth of our fireplace, curl up on one of our cozy couches, and sip one of our delicious drinks while experiencing the aroma of community in the love of God.
We hope you’ll join us on opening night, this Friday, for a concert by Never Say When at 7pm – beautiful, acoustic, indie folk music. Check our website to stay updated on all our events!
In Love,
Cafe Aroma

Happy Fall Everyone!
This past week I was out at my Great Aunt & Uncle’s farm helping them do some fall sorting and repairs before winter sets in. As we were cleaning we ran across some old cookbooks and recipe cards that belong to my Aunt. These recipe books & cards are from the 60′s and 70′s the pictures on them are absolutely brilliant! There’s nothing better than some older home cooked family favorites! She handed over these recipe gems for me to use in the Cafe Aroma bakery!
So, the next time you’re in you’ll have to check out the homemade apple cranberry pie and brown sugar candied walnut muffins! They’re amazing and are sure to bring on that comfy cozy fall feeling!
Come by for some great food, drink, & community!
Peace,
Rach

Try the new orange zest tea ring. This is one of my family’s favorite recipes. My dad – awesome guy that he is – started volunteering to help with baking. We’ll be bringing you more of our family favorites soon.
